OUR Thoughts on Taumeasina Island Resort, Apia, Upolu, Samoa
The building of this resort has been a major undertaking and the biggest new build in the environs of Apia for some years. We have visited a good number of times since it opened and continue to be very happy with the way the whole resort is operating. The quality of the resort is set at a 4.5 star standard and the product delivers on that standard. Everything is sparkling and near new and the staff from the top down, go out of their way to make sure every guest has a perfect experience.

The little island on which the resort has been built is a real treasure.  It has a superb location 2.5kms from the centre of Apia, yet the guest experience is of holidaying on a much more remote holiday island.  Guests staying at Taumeasina Island Resort have 24-hour access to Apia across the 90 metre causeway which joins the island to the mainland, so it’s an ideal location for both business and leisure travellers.

This a great spot for a wedding and Wedding Packages are offered.  Weddings may be held anywhere on the resort grounds and beaches as well as in the darling little Wedding Chapel.  One of the fun-benefits of having a wedding in Samoa lies in the country’s close proximity to the International Date Line meaning that your wedding will be the first to be celebrated anywhere in the world that day.

 Oceanview King Rooms:

The Oceanview Rooms occupy the blocks closest to the entrance to the resort and comprise both ground floor and first floor rooms. Each room has a side-on aspect towards the ocean plus a very pleasant outlook towards the land with the mountains of Upolu beyond.  Each Hotel Room is a good size at 26m² plus a decent deck/balcony. Bathrooms have a walk-in shower.
A limited number of rooms interconnect. Interconnecting rooms comprise 1 room with a King Bed and 1 room with 2 Double Beds.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults in rooms with a King Bed
Maximum Occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (in rooms with 2 Double Beds)
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

 Deluxe Oceanview King Rooms:
     (Rooms with 1 King Bed)
 Deluxe Oceanview Double Rooms:

The Deluxe Oceanview Blocks are located next to the Oceanview Room blocks, just a little further away from the entrance to the resort and very handy to one of the resort’s beautiful beaches and the swimming pool complex.  Deluxe Oceanview Rooms have superb water views as well as views towards the mystical central mountains of Upolu. All Deluxe Rooms are 26m² in area plus a balcony or patio.
A limited number of rooms interconnect. Interconnecting rooms comprise 1 room with a King Bed and 1 room with 2 Double Beds.
Each Deluxe Oceanview Room is a good size at 26m² plus a spacious deck/balcony. Bathrooms have a walk-in shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults in rooms with a King Bed
Maximum Occupancy: 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (in rooms with 2 Double Beds)
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

 2 Bedroom Waterfront Villas:
The 2 Bedroom Waterfront Villas are fully self-contained with 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Villa size is 58m² plus a patio/balcony large enough to comfortably hold an outdoor 4-person table setting.  The fully-equipped kitchen includes a four-element cook top, full-size fridge, a combined microwave/convection oven and an island bench (complete with 3 bar stools) which flows seamlessly into the lounge. The 2 split-system air-conditioned bedrooms are located either side of a central utilities complex which includes a laundry and a separate bathroom with walk-in shower.  
Maximum Occupancy: 5 adults or 2 adults and up to 3 children
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in each bedroom and 1 Sofa Bed in the lounge. In some 2 Bedroom Villas, one of the King Beds may be swapped for 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A baby cot may be added in addition to room maximum occupancy allowance.

 3 Bedroom Waterfront Villas:
The 3 Bedroom Villas are similar in layout and facilities to the 2 Bedroom Villas, but with the addition of a Master Bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom (walk-in shower).  As with the 2 Bedroom Villas, the 2 other bedrooms share the main bathroom. Three Bedroom Villas are 75m² in area plus a bigger deck/balcony which, as well as a 6-seat outdoor dining setting includes 2 comfortable lounging chairs and a Sun lounger.
Guests booking a 3 Bedroom Villa receive a bonus welcome pack.

Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in each bedroom and 1 Sofa Bed in the lounge. In some 3 Bedroom Villas, one of the King Beds may be swapped for 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: A baby cot may be added in addition to room maximum occupancy allowance.

 3 Bedroom Cove Villas:
Located on the main land facing the resort with views of the ocean and resort, the 3 Bedroom Cove Villas are equipped to cater for large families or groups of friends. The resort facilities are a short walk from the villas or a resort buggy is available to take you between the resort and your villa. Kitchen, outdoor dining setting, lounge and dining area inside, two bathrooms and laundry facilities.
Maximum Occupancy: 7 guests (7 adults or 2 adults and 5 children)
Existing Bedding: 3 King Split Beds + Sofa Bed in the lounge.
Additional Bedding: A baby cot may be added in addition to room maximum occupancy allowance.

Accessible Facilities
Two Hotel Rooms and one 3-Bedroom Villa have disability accessibility.

Getting to and from Taumeasina Island Resort
At Faleolo International Airport, Taumeasina Island Resort has a staff member available to assist guests with directions and transportation. We will include arrival and departure airport transfers in package arrangements as required/agreed.
The resort is located only 2.5kms (5 minutes by car) from Apia City on a private island attached to the mainland by a short, 90-metres long causeway. The closest shopping centre is Lotemau Mall 2.5kms from the resort in town on Vaea Street. Lotemau Mall has a good range of retail outlets, a supermarket and also houses the downtown office of Air New Zealand. Getting to and from town is relatively easy, taxis are readily available and reasonably priced.

Up to 2 children aged under 12 years stay free when sharing a room with parents and occupying existing bedding. 
In 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas, a baby in a cot (cot supplied free subject to availability) is accommodated free of charge. 


Check-in/Check Out
The resort’s official check-in and checkout times are:
Check-in: 2:00pm
Check-out: 11:00am
Early Check-in and Late Check-out
Early check-in from 6:00am onwards when available is charged at 50% of the rate for the accommodation being occupied.
Late check-out until 8:00pm when available is charged at 50% of the room tariff of the room occupied.
