OUR Thoughts on Coconuts Beach Club Resort & Spa, South Coast, Upolu, Samoa
There is a very relaxed and a very Samoan feeling about this Resort with its 21 individual fales and suites. It has a great location on Upolu’s South Coast, a beachside restaurant, a Day Spa and beautiful gecko-shaped pool with a swim-up bar.
The accommodation is a blend of traditional Samoan style with modern European comforts. There’s nothing “false” about the way the fales have been constructed with their natural high timber beam roofs and lava rock feature walls teamed up with lounge furniture and bed frames of natural bamboo. The ensuite bathroom showers are a replica of the many beautiful natural waterfalls found in the centre of Upolu. Guests really enjoy the sunken shower base and the waterfall-style shower cascading down from the natural rock wall.
Like many Samoan villages, Coconuts is built around the beach. There is a nice sloping beach access to the lagoon although the sand outside the Beach Fales and beside the restaurant and the pool area has been levelled behind a low natural rock wall which is great for the comfortable placement of beach sun-loungers. The swimming pool complex is right in the centre of the resort on the beach front. Facing the pool from the lagoon, Mika’s Restaurant is to the right. The accommodation units are off to the left, either on the beach front, over the water or positioned back a little from the pool.
Minimum Stay Policy
The Resort has a minimum 3 consecutive night stay policy on all accommodation types.
Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
1 Bedroom Beachfront Fales:
The four 1 Bedroom Beach Fales are located directly on the beach frontage just meters from the water’s edge. They feature an open plan but split level design where the bedroom and bathroom are positioned up 4 steps above the lounge and the lounge opens directly on to a sizeable veranda. All fales have the unique open air bathrooms with lava-rock walls and a sunken shower nestled under a private “waterfall”. Finishing touches include thatched roofs, covered terraces facing the sea & island decor.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the lounge area
2 Bedroom Beachfront Fales:
The 2 Bedroom Beach Fales are located beside the 1 Bedroom Beach Fales and closer to the pool. Two Bedroom Beach Fales have one open air bathroom. Although entirely separate from each other, each bedroom opens to the lounge and the view but can be made private by closing the bi-folding screens between the bedroom and the lounge.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in 1 bedroom and & 2 Single Beds in the other bedroom.
-Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the lounge area
Over The Water Fales:
The Over-the-Water Fales at Coconuts are built entirely on the lagoon, handy to the beach. Each has a spacious bedroom and massive decks. A lounge area and the beautiful bathroom both open right on to the deck via bi-folding and sliding doors to provide a great indoor/outdoor flow. The day bed in the lounge is replicated on the deck.

Additional Bedding: 1 Rollaway Single Bed.
Royal Beach Villas:
The Royal Beach Villas occupy a corner site between the Beach Fales and the Treehouse Suites. The Villas face over the pool and are virtually right on the beach. The 3 individual Villas are either booked as individual units or interconnected with one other villa or both other Villas to make an ideal accommodation option for an extended family or a group of friends travelling together.
Villa Matai (the Big Central Villa):
Maximum Occupancy: 5 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: 2 Single Beds can be added to the upstairs Observatory and a 3rd Single Bed can be added to the ground floor lounge area.
Villa Pule:
Villa Alii:
These are known as the “Flanking Villas” as one is on each side of Villa Matai and each has the following occupancy/bedding arrangement.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the lounge area.
For a family group or a group of friends taking Villa Matai plus one or two of the flanking villas, there are considerable savings to be made over the individual prices.
By combining the big central Villa Matai with one of the Flanking Villas there is a maximum occupancy of 8 guests
By Combining Villa (Villa Matai) with both Flanking Villas there is a maximum occupancy of 11 guests
Getting to and from Coconut's Beach Club
For guests staying at least 5 consecutive nights, Coconuts Beach Club provide complimentary inbound and outbound transfers between Upolu’s Faleolo International Airport and Coconut's Beach Club – transfers are provided by the resort. There is a reasonable transfer charge for guests staying 3 or 4 nights and this charge will be included in our package arrangements. Transfer time between the airport and Coconuts is approximately 45 minutes.
Kids Policy
● Bookings of children under 3 years of age
are not accepted at Coconuts Beach Club.
● Only children aged 12 years and over are
accepted in Over The Water Fales.
● Children 3 years and over are considered
adults for pricing purposes.
Check-in/Check Out
Coconuts Beach Club’s standard check-in and check-out times are as follows:
Check In Time: 2:00pm
Check Out Time: 11:00am
Early Arriving Flights
Guests on flights which arrive in Apia early in the morning who wish to guarantee immediate access to their accommodation are highly recommended to pre-book and pay for their accommodation from the night before.
Late Departing Flights
Once in-house, guests may request late check-outs which will be provided subject to availability.
