OUR Thoughts on Paradise Hotel Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Norfolk Island
Paradise Hotel is found in a very pleasant garden location, set back a little off Queen Elizabeth Avenue Norfolk Island. Over the years an interesting little holiday precinct has developed in the vicinity of The Paradise Hotel. Governors Lodge is right across the road next to the Cheryl Tennis Club. Almost beside Paradise Hotel on the roadside you find the Cyclorama, the delightful Hilli’s Restaurant and the entrance to the Pitcairn Settlers Village. The hotel is centrally located for access to Burnt Pine Town which is only 800 metres away and it is only a short drive to the historic Kingston area and the beach at Emily Bay.
The hotel itself has been upgraded and modernised although, happily, it retains a deal of the “colonial” feel for which it has always been known. The Garden Restaurant & Bar opens out to the two beautiful Rotundas which are surrounded by colourful gardens and the new extensive undercover deck area off the restaurant is a great addition. There is a beautiful Hotel Lounge which features an all-day Coffee & Tea Station, a TV Lounge and a complimentary DVD Library for guest use. The swimming pool has a natural timber deck surround and there are high-quality sun-loungers poolside.
The family which owns and runs the Paradise take a personal interest in guests and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. You’ll find it’s easy to organise a picnic basket lunch (Norfolk Island has many great picnic spots) and they are always on hand to assist with advice on Norfolk Island’s many attractions. Guests can choose between a continental breakfast or full breakfast – we particularly like the egg station where eggs are cooked to individual requirements.
Families are welcome at Paradise Hotel, but possibly due to the limited number of family-friendly rooms at the resort hotel, there never seems to be a lot of children around. Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel resort.

Your Accommodation Options
Paradise Hotel & Resort has 49 rooms which are mainly located on the ground floor. There are a limited number of Garden Rooms located up one level. All the accommodation is handily located to the lobby, The Garden Restaurant & Bar and the lounge. All rooms have either a view of the pool or a view of the very pleasant hotel gardens in which the hotel is set. Rooms are modern and spacious. A feature of this hotel is the so-called Economy Single Rooms which are an excellent option for single travellers who are happy to trade more space for a cheaper price. We don’t think there is anything “economy” about these rooms, other than the price and size as they have an ensuite bathroom, tea/coffee making facility and a small fridge etc.

Economy Single Rooms:
Modern and economical for a single traveller, Economy Single rooms have recently undergone major renovations and are the perfect option for the budget-oriented traveller. Located just metres from the swimming pool, each room is equipped with a single bed, brand new private bathroom, satellite television, DVD player, refrigerator, IDD phone and tea/coffee facilities. 30m2

Garden Rooms:
80m2 Garden Rooms are located on both the ground and first floors with many on the ground floor boasting a private terrace to enjoy the hotel gardens and swimming pool. Each room has a private bathroom with shower, satellite television, DVD player, refrigerator, IDD phones, clock radio, fan, iron/board, hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities and under-counter fridge. There is plenty of room in each room for a small dining table and 3 chairs

Superior Rooms:
Superior rooms are located on the ground floor (some are poolside) and provide easy access to the hotel lobby. Offering stylish accommodation, each room features modern appliances and includes a modern bathroom with shower, satellite television, DVD player, microwave, under-counter fridge, IDD phone, clock radio, fan, iron/board, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. Superior Rooms are a good size with modern light décor. The Interconnecting room facility is handy for a family. 110m2

The Executive Suite:
The 90m2 Executive suite is situated in a quiet area upstairs and overlooks the pool. This suite has a separate bedroom and lounge/kitchen area, an iPod docking station, large marble bathroom with separate shower and spa bath, desk, kitchen with microwave, coffee machine, snack maker, toaster, dining area and lounge with comfortable chairs and 50” flat-screen TV.

Getting To and From Paradise Hotel & Resort
Paradise Hotel & Resort provide complimentary return airport transfers for arriving and departing guests.
Paradise Hotel & Resort is approximately 800 metres from the centre of Burnt Pine and on a nice day it is a pleasant stroll into town. However, they do provide a courtesy scheduled transfer service into town for guests.

100% of the cost of the accommodation booked.
