OUR Thoughts on Endeavour Lodge, 158A Collins Head Road
An exceptional property in an exceptional location. This small, modern complex is rated 4-Star Self Catering and it certainly lives up to and in may ways surpasses this classification, simply because the owners/managers place such importance on their guests well-being by providing many little “extras” which make a good holiday into a great holiday. We refer to special little touches like ● the provision of complimentary fruit in season, ● fresh eggs available daily (small charge), ● Binoculars to study the White Terns and other bird life which frequent the headland and a book on Norfolk Island birdlife so you can look up the birds you are seeing, ● use of mask and snorkel set, ● a picnic basket in every unit, ● beach towels, ● a DVD library and a book library, ● complimentary use of the tennis court at Ocean Breeze Cottages, ● and a private BBQ on your balcony, to mention a few.
To make the most of a holiday at Endeavour Lodge, you do need a rental car and that’s why the use of a car is included in the nightly tariff. It isn’t a major distance into Burnt Pine from this location, but it is definitely too far to walk! As you settle into your time at Endeavour Lodge, you will take different routes between the property and the town – it’s a good little drive via Quality Row and the historic part of the island – you might even take a picnic one day and enjoy the beautiful views from Rooty Hill Road and the Queen Elizabeth Lookout. Two Chimneys Winery is handy via Stockyard Road as is the rolling country around Cascade accessed via Cascade Road off the end of Collins Head Road. And, that’s only half of the island!

Eight units make up Endeavour Lodge – 6 One Bedroom apartment-style units, 1 Two Bedroom Cottage and the spectacular Three Bedroom Rainbows End House. All accommodation is fresh and new with a very tasteful fusion of Norfolk Island and contemporary styles. As is the case with many Norfolk Island properties, pine furniture and half-wall pine planking features – at Endeavour Lodge this is done with a modern touch and the walls and ceilings match in with muted painted décor. At Endeavour Lodge every unit comes with ocean views, a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, an iron and ironing board, private balcony with BBQ, flat screen TV and DVD player, Wifi connection (extra charge), beach towels and iPod dock. Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
One Bedroom Apartments:
The 6 One Bedroom Apartments are each located in a “duplex” unit (2 apartments to each building). Each 53m2 unit has a separate bedroom which is big enough to cater for 3 guests, an ensuite bathroom with a shower, and a separate open-plan living room which includes the fully-stocked kitchen. Both east and west-facing decks.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed and 1 Single Bed
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
The Two Bedroom Apartment/Cottage:
The 115m2 Two Bedroom Cottage is a stand-alone building next to the One Bedroom Apartments. This beautiful cottage features 2 separate bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom with shower and a spacious veranda with outdoor dining setting facing the view.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in one bedroom which splits into 2 Single Beds on request and 1 King Bed plus a Single Bed in the second bedroom.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
The Three Bedroom Rainbows End House:
175m2 A splendid location near the end of the headland with wide views of the sea and the off-shore islands, the various bays on either side of the headland and the wild coastline. Guaranteeing privacy, each of the three (ensuite) bedrooms is on a different level and each has an external deck. The house’s living room is a huge open space which includes the lounge and a full-sized kitchen. The lounge runs almost seamlessly out to a very wide veranda – a great place from which to take in the fabulous view.

Existing Bedding: Each bedroom offers both a King-Size bed which may be split into 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
Getting to and from Endeavour Lodge
Complimentary return airport transfers are provided.
A small 4-door rental car (from Borry’s Rentals) is included with all accommodation bookings at Endeavour Lodge. Insurance with an excess of $2500, is included. However, if guests prefer, they may pay $10.00 a day to reduce the excess to $500. This payment is made direct to Borry’s Rentals.
Endeavour Lodge is in a very pleasant location on a headland overlooking the ocean and Phillip and Nepean Islands. Cemetery Bay and the Kingston historic area are the next bays around on one side of the headland and Ball Bay is the next bay around on the other side of the headland. Having a car included in the tariff is a welcome feature and you will use the car constantly as you move around the island; you will become very familiar with Collins Head Road, Driver Christian Road, Quality Row and Middlegate Roads as you take the alternative routes to and from Burnt Pine Village.

Cancellations or amendments made 7 days or less
prior to scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee
