OUR Thoughts on Aloha Apartments, 51A Taylors Road, Burnt Pine, Norfolk Island
A great place to stay on Norfolk Island for those seeking to really experience the Norfolk Island lifestyle for a week or two. Staying here you simply can’t be more central to everything.  Step outside Aloha Apartments and you are on Norfolk Island’s main thoroughfare, Taylors Road.  Walk to the Supermarket, the Liquor Bond, The Information Centre, shops, restaurants, café’s Tour Companies – everything is right at hand.  

Over recent years Aloha Apartments have been progressively improved and giant strides have been made just in the past 24 months.  Many of the 39 apartment units have been refurbished (these are known as their Deluxe Apartments) with modern kitchens and bathrooms and given more space, wifi has been introduced throughout the rooms and the whole complex and the new on-site café – The High Tide Café, which serves delicious breakfasts and lunches and dinners has been added. The former motel-style of this property has all but disappeared and morphed into an accommodation-style which fits the modern Norfolk Island perfectly with its modern facilities and services while still retaining everything which makes a Norfolk Island holiday so appealing. We recommend you consider the Deluxe Apartments for the very modest premium they cost over the Standard Apartments.

While Aloha Apartments is very central it is still very quiet – the apartments are set back from the road and most times the only sounds you hear are the island’s roosters welcoming a new day.  The Tour Buses stop right outside so accessing the island’s many attractions is easy.  On-site car parking is available for all apartments. There is a nice, shaded swimming pool and a kids’ playground too. 

You can pack lightly for a stay at Aloha Apartments as they take care of almost everything you will need, from pool towels available free at Reception, to in-room facilities including a picnic basket, iron and ironing board and hair dryer.  We suggest you might like to pack a small torch (or a fully charged mobile phone with a Torch App) if you feel like walking to a sports club or restaurant for dinner as there is a lack of street lights in Burnt Pine. Better still, just take your car.

Being located in the centre of the island means there is little in the way of views (although some apartments have a pleasant view towards Mt Pitt), but we feel the convenience of the central location far outweighs the need for a view and great views can be had anytime you like just a short car ride away, so pack you picnic basket and enjoy!

Your Accommodation Options
Aloha Apartments offer a choice of either 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartments in either duplex units (2 units to a building) or triplex units (3 units to a building). Two different categories are available “Standard” and “Deluxe”.  Both categories have the same basic layout and inclusions – the Deluxe Apartments are a little bigger with more recently refurbished kitchens and bathrooms making them a little more modern than the Standard Apartments, but whichever category you choose, you will be comfortable and made very welcome. 

All apartments have a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave and oven with cook-top, toaster, Tea and Coffee Facility, Iron and Ironing Board, Hair Dryer and Pedestal Fan. Other thoughtful inclusions are umbrellas, picnic baskets, a gas heater and even electric blankets and complimentary beach towels on request. Of course, each apartment has a TV and radio and each one has a pleasant veranda/patio for relaxing between excursions.  

Apartments are serviced daily.  There is a guest laundry on site.

The 1 Bedroom Apartments have a kitchen, dining table and chairs and bathroom with shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 Adults or 1 adult and 1 child
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed which can be split into 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: 1 baby cot can be added for infants aged up to 2 years.

 Standard 2 Bedroom Apartments:
 Deluxe 2 Bedroom Apartments:
The 2 Bedroom Apartments have a kitchen, dining table and chairs and 1 bathroom with shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 Adults or 2 Adults and 2 Children
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in both bedrooms, either or both of which can be split into 2 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: 1 baby cot can be added for infants aged up to 2 years.

Getting to and from Aloha Apartments 
A bus dedicated to Aloha and Tudor Apartments’ guests will be waiting at the airport on arrival.  On arrival at Aloha Apartments guests go directly to their accommodation and then, as soon as practical, are asked to go to Reception to complete check-in formalities. Return airport transfers and a Half Day Island Orientation Tour is included in rom tariff at Aloha Apartments

For those guests who choose the “Car-included” rate for their whole stay, the rental car will be parked outside their accommodation unit and guests are requested to go to the Rental Car Office as soon as practical to attend to car rental formalities. 

Rental car costs on Norfolk Island are very reasonable. Rental car rates for a one or two day hire are marginally more expensive per day than the rate for 3 days or longer, but, in our experience, it is always very handy to have a car at your disposal at all times to get the most out of a Norfolk Island holiday.  Having said that, Aloha Apartments is THE most central accommodation on Norfolk Island.  Staying here you are virtually right in town. It’s an easy walk to the supermarket (diagonally right across the road), cafés, shops and clubs.  Walking out of Aloha Apartments and turning to the right you are only around 50 metres from the Norfolk Island Liquor Bond Store which is next door to the Visitor Information Centre.  Turn left and you are only 100 metres from the Burnt Pine central roundabout where Taylors Road meets New Cascades Road, therefore, a car is probably not as vital to the enjoyment of a stay at Aloha Apartments as it is for stays in Norfolk’s more outlying accommodation options. However, one of the many delights of a Norfolk Island holiday is being able to explore at leisure the many and varied wonderful “nooks and crannies” the island has to offer and to do this, having a car on call adds immeasurably to the enjoyment of a Norfolk Island holiday.    

Families and Kids 
Up to 2 children aged under 12 years stay free when sharing with 2 adults and utilising existing bedding.
Families are well catered for at Aloha Apartments.  Cots, high chairs and child car seats are provided for complimentary use and there is a kids’ playground included on-site.

Cancellation Policy
 All cancellations must be made in writing.
 Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days of scheduled
     arrival incur a cancellation fee of A$200 per person 
     (including children). 
 Cancellations made within 15 days of scheduled arrival
     and no-shows incur a cancellation fee equal to 100% of
     the cost of accommodation and services booked and 
     confirmed.
