OUR Thoughts on Hotel Paradis d’Ouvea
This is an extraordinary place to be. The main islands of Ouvea form a huge crescent along the eastern side of a long extinct underwater volcano. The crescent of islands enfolds one side of an enormous lagoon which is known world-wide for its clear water and its supremely beautiful powder-white sand beaches. The far side of the lagoon is defined by a myriad of small islands dotted along its western side. The main island of Ouvea, on which the airport is located curves towards the south and narrows dramatically ending at a deep passage between the main island and the smaller island on which Paradis d’Ouvea is located. A good, solid highway bridge takes the road across the passage and that’s where you enter a most remarkable holiday environment. Paradis d’Ouvea is located on a very narrow part of its island with the lagoon to the north-west and another shallow harbour to the south-east. The beaches on both sides of the land at this point are what make this place so special.
We have seen many spectacular beach locations throughout the South Pacific and this one is way up there with the very best. The beaches just go on and on into the distance, so, if long, lonely beach walks any time from sunrise to sunset are your thing, this is as good as it gets. You know a place is good when you see locals from Noumea over here for weekend breaks from their busy city environment. Paradis d’Ouvea is a favourite with young Japanese Honeymooners too.
Paradis d’Ouvea was totally renovated in 2012 and is in great shape. You will find a good range of hotel services such as Room service, Laundry service, a pleasant Bar, 2 restaurants, Wifi in the public areas (restaurants, reception), a Swimming pool and a deck solarium. The central facility of the hotel is very pretty and great place to mingle with the other guests. The lagoon and the bay provide superb snorkelling. Other activities (available at extra charge) are Mountain Bike Hire, Lagoon excursions and an Island Tour. For those people who are not into tours, rental cars can easily be arranged and a very pleasant day or two can be spent exploring Ouvea by car at your own pace.
Paradis d’Ouvea is a place for relaxing, catching up on your book reading (bring a couple of books or your library on your e-reader), rekindling a relationship and rejuvenation of the mind and body. Mid-week is the quietest time. If you are seeking comfortable solitude, you will find it here.

Your Accommodation Options
There are no less than 6 different accommodation options, so there is something to suit every need for an Ouvea vacation. There are 2 rows of Bungalows, most are built right on the beach frontage with lagoon and sea views and others are in the next row back with either a lagoon or a garden view.
Bungalows are mainly open-plan with a lounge area and a decent-sized veranda on the ground level at the front. Some Bungalows have the sleeping area and the bathroom raised up 3 steps – this provides a pleasant view from the bed as well as from the lounge area. The Bungalows have high vaulted ceilings and polished wooden flooring. Décor is modern and light.
All are air-conditioned and all have fans as well as flow-through ventilation and none are more than a few steps from the beach. Every bedroom (including those bungalows with 2 bedrooms) has an iron and ironing board and a personal safe. Continental Breakfast is included in the room tariff.
Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
Garden Bungalows:
Garden Bungalows come in 2 styles. One for 2 persons and the other for 4 persons sharing.
On a 2-person basis, the Garden Bungalows are a spacious 41m2 with a 10m2 veranda. On a 4-person basis an additional room is opened up to increase
the internal size to 66m2. The bathroom has a shower and a bath.
Garden Bungalows provide guests with a pleasant view of the tropical garden.
Maximum Occupancy: Up to 4 guests.
Existing Bedding: 1 Double Bed or 1 Double Bed and 2 Single Beds or 4 Single Beds.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
Deluxe Lagoon Bungalows:
Right on the beach, the Deluxe Lagoon Bungalows are very spacious at 50m2 in size with a beautiful 22m2 veranda which comes complete with 2 sun loungers and a coffee table. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. The bungalow has a flat screen TV. There are perfect sea views – the sunset over the lagoon is terrific.

Royal Garden Bungalows.
The Royal Garden Bungalows have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, each with a bath and a shower. Joining the 2 bedrooms there is a lounge area. The total area is a huge 108m2 and this is complemented by two 10m2 verandas – one off each bedroom. The Bungalow faces the tropical garden and is only metres from the beach.
Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests (Adults or Adults and Children but a maximum 3 children)
Existing Bedding: a King Bed in each bedroom.
Additional Bedding: The 5th and 6th guests are accommodated in the lounge area.
Paradise Spa Bungalow:
The Paradis Spa Bungalow is similar in every way to the Deluxe Lagoon Bungalows but with the addition of a Spa Bath on the Veranda. Imagine sitting in a Spa Bath, almost on the beach while watching the sunset – magic!
The Paradise Spa Bungalow is 50m2 with a 22m2 veranda.

Royal Lagoon Bungalows:
With a stunning sea view, the Royal Lagoon Bungalows at 108m2 with 20m2 veranda space have 2 bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. Enjoy a Dress-Circle position, right on the stunning beach. Ideal accommodation for 2 couples travelling together or for a bigger family.
Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests (Adults or Adults and Children but a maximum 3 children)
Existing Bedding: a King Bed in each bedroom.
Additional Bedding: The 5th and 6th guests are accommodated in the lounge area.
Getting To and From Hotel Paradis d’Ouvea
There are normally 2 flights each day between Noumea’s Domestic Magenta Airport and Ouvea. Flight time is 40 minutes each way by modern jet-prop aircraft. With Holiday Packages, airport transfers will be included as appropriate. Ouvea’s Airport is approximately 8 kms from the hotel.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing
Cancellations made between 8 and 14 days of scheduled
arrival date incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the
cost of staying 1 night.
Cancellations made between 2 and 7 days of
scheduled arrival incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost
of staying 1 night.
Cancellations made less than 2 days of scheduled arrival
and no-shows, incur a cancellation fee equal to 100%
of the cost of the booking made.

Cancellations received from 30 days to 15 days prior arrival
date: 50% of 1 night charged.
Cancellations received from 14 days to 8 days prior arrival
date: 1 night charged
Cancellations received from 7 days to 3 days before the
arrival date: 50% of the total stay booked is charged.
Cancellations received less than 3 days before arrival and
No Shows: 100% of the entire stay is charged.
