Our Thoughts on Aston at the Waikiki Banyan
The Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is one of a limited number of mid-range condos/apartments in the Waikiki area in which all units have a full kitchen. There are plenty of condos/apartments/hotel rooms available which have a kitchenette, but we’re talking here about a full kitchen in which it is possible to cook a full meal if you want to.
This is a big resort with 876 units (although Aston doesn’t manage all of these) and you can’t help but be impressed with the amount of space everywhere. The lobby is huge, the individual condo-style units are all very spacious, there are several full floors of car park spaces and the “Recreation Deck” which joins both buildings at the 6th floor level on top of the car park is probably the largest recreation deck in Waikiki. The Recreation facilities include a children’s playground, tennis court, outdoor BBQs, heated swimming pool, 2 Spa Tubs, sauna and putting green.
Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is rated 3 Star and it’s a good standard for a 3 Star property. The resort is described as “Just over a block from the beach” and technically that’s true. However, it’s quite a long block although still handy enough to the beach. Ohua Avenue, on which Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is located, joins Kalakaua Avenue at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki Beach (actually known as Kuhio Beach at this location) which is quieter and a little wider than it is right in the centre of Waikiki. A few metres walk from Aston at the Waikiki Banyan and you come to Kuhio Avenue and all its action.
We like the fact that Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is absolutely surrounded by eateries and convenience stores – there seems to be an ABC Store every few metres! The main “TheBus” route to Ala Moana and all the attractions of Honolulu City as well as Pearl Harbour is just around the corner in Kuhio Avenue as is the stop for the very convenient Waikiki Trolleys. The Zoo and the aquarium are easy walking distance. The “Banyan Breeze” internet café in the lobby is a great spot to enjoy pastries, sandwiches, salads and wraps.
Choose Aston at the Waikiki Banyan for a less frenetic-paced location, full-size kitchen facilities, a fairly spacious unit with a separate bedroom and lots of activities for a family. This property is made for families and for couples who enjoy space around them in a holiday unit.

Your Accommodation Options
One Bedroom/1 Bathroom condo suites average a spacious 53m2 in area which includes a living room with a fully equipped kitchen (oven, cook-top, microwave oven, full-sized fridge/freezer), a separate bedroom and a bathroom with a combo bath/shower. The doors to the separate bedroom can be opened right back for an even greater feeling of space.
Aston at The Waikiki Banyan features 2 towers, one of which faces north/south and the other east/west. The main difference between the various suite categories is the level they occupy in the 2 buildings. The higher you are the higher the tariff will be but there isn’t a huge difference in price between the various categories (approximately NZ$20 per suite between each category). Generally, guests staying in the Standard Suites have a balcony facing other high-rise buildings, Superior Suites provide a wider view of the city and guests in Deluxe Suites will enjoy a view of the ocean filtered by the higher floors of the few nearby resort buildings which reach the same height as Waikiki Banyan.

Getting To and From Aston at the Waikiki Banyan
We will add airport transfers to your Aston at the Waikiki Banyan package as appropriate/required.
Aston at the Waikiki Banyan is handy to all TheBus routes and the Waikiki Trolley routes on Kuhio Avenue – just wander around the corner to Kuhio Avenue to catch TheBus to Ala Moana Terminal and the Waikiki Trolley.
For those taking a rental car, The hotel offers daily parking at US$20 per day.

Bookings which include any nights falling within the peak
season and cancelled within 40 days of scheduled arrival
