Our Thoughts on Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, 2552 Kalakaua Avenue, Waikiki
With a total of 1310 guest rooms and suites, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort is a big hotel in Waikiki terms. Spread over 2 towers (one of 25 floors, the other 33 floors), the hotel takes up a full block bounded on the front by Waikiki’s well-known beachfront main street; Kalakaua Avenue and on the back by lively Kuhio Avenue.  The main entrance to the hotel is off Ohua Avenue (best known as the location of St Augustine’s Cathedral and a great deal of open space) which runs down one side and Paoakalani Avenue running down the other side. However, because the hotel is spread over two towers (each with a separate swimming pool and plenty of lifts) and occupies the entire block, we find that guests don’t feel crowded in any way when staying here. There are no resort buildings on the beach side of Kalakaua Avenue at this point, so a high percentage of rooms at The Marriott give at least a partial ocean view from the balcony and many have stunningly wide views. 

For such a big hotel, you would expect a good range of facilities and they don’t disappoint and, of course, at this location, you have all of Waikiki virtually at your doorstep. There is a wide range of food outlets in the hotel itself and our favourites are the Sushi Bar and the Moana Terrace (especially at sunset). The hotel’s gym is very well equipped. A very good buffet breakfast is served at the Kuhio Beach Grill and if you take the room and breakfast option you will enjoy the breakfasts here - especially the omelette station. If taking the room-only option, you will quickly find a whole heap of breakfast dining options only steps away from The Marriott.

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort is located 4 or 5 short blocks along Kalakaua Avenue from the International Market Place in the centre of Waikiki and for most of that distance there are no buildings on the Waikiki Beach side of Kalakaua Avenue, which makes it a pleasant walk along the beachfront footpath or via the retail outlets on the “land-side” of the road.  Even though the closer you get to the centre of Waikiki the busier it becomes, it is still a pleasant, relaxing stroll along the beach side taking in the sights of Waikiki Beach.

Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
 City View Rooms:
22m² to 32m² in size with a balcony.
Generally on lower floors with an outlook towards other buildings on the opposite side of the avenues surrounding this hotel. City View Rooms can get road noise from the balcony but the noise disappears when balcony doors are closed.
Ensuite bathroom with shower/bath combo.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King or 1 Queen Bed or 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Rollaway Bed or Cot may be added subject to maximum occupancy allowed and actual size and configuration of the room occupied.
 
 Ocean View Rooms:
28m² to 32m² in size with a balcony.
Located in the 33-level Paoakalani Tower (P Tower), generally on higher floors overlooking iconic St Augustine’s Cathedral and enjoying a wider balcony ocean view framed, in parts, by resorts on each side.
Ensuite bathroom with shower/bath combo.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Rollaway Bed or Cot may be added subject to maximum occupancy allowed.

 Diamond Head Ocean View Rooms:
28m² to 32m² in size with a balcony.
Located in the 33-level Paoakalani Tower (P Tower), generally on higher floors with terrific views from the balcony over Kapiolani Park to Diamond Head, the sunrise, and the ocean off to the side. Diamond Head Ocean View Rooms are the same tariff as Premium Ocean View Rooms. (see below)

 Premium Ocean View Rooms:
22m² to 32m² in size with a balcony.
Located in the 25-level ocean front Kealohilani Tower (K Tower), with gorgeous ocean views from their balcony over the Kuhio Beach end of Waikiki Beach. Premium Ocean View Rooms are the same tariff as Diamond Head Ocean View Rooms. (see above)
Ensuite bathroom with shower/bath combo.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding or cots are accommodated in this room type.

Ocean Front Rooms:
32m² in size with a balcony.
Located in the 25-level oceanfront Kealohilani Tower, generally facing west to capture the glorious sunsets over Waikiki Beach. with a wider view of the ocean (but still a partial ocean view) from the balcony. We rate these rooms quite highly for value and outlook.
Ensuite bathroom with shower/bath combo.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Rollaway Bed or Cot may be added subject to maximum occupancy allowed.

 Junior Suites
 City View Junior Suites:

44m² to 49 m² in size with a balcony.
Good, big sized junior suites located according to their room description, either on lower floors with city outlook, on middle floors with a side aspect to the ocean or right on the ocean front with splendid ocean views.

Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Double Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Rollaway Bed or Cot may be added subject to maximum occupancy allowed.

Getting to and from Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
We will include arrangements and charges for coach or private car arrival/departure transfers between Honolulu International Airport and Marriott Resort Waikiki Beach in package arrangements as required/agreed.

Children aged 17 years and under stay free when occupying the room with an adult and utilise existing bedding,
