OUR thoughts on Oarsman's Bay Lodge, Nacula Island, Yasawa Islands, Fiji
This resort is set on a stunning pristine beach that stretches for miles. Fringed by the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon, this is one of the most photographed locations in the Yasawas.

Whether it’s relaxing in the outdoor restaurant and bar, lounging in a hammock along the beach, or joining in a game of volleyball with friendly Fijian staff, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more idyllic location.

There is excellent swimming and snorkelling in all tides as the lagoon out front is a Marine Protected Area. The resort is owned and operated by the Mataqali Natia from the nearby Nacula Village. Offering you the chance to see and experience their way of life is part of what Oarsman’s Bay Lodge is all about. Please note that no cash can be used at this resort and that it is adults only (18 years and older).

You can join the congregation at the local church on Sunday (a true Fijian experience like no other) or visit the village during the week and catch a glimpse of real island life. Partake of a Fiji Lovo dinner and immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the Yasawan people.

Standard Dorm:
The “Best in the Yasawa’s” shared accommodation is above the main Lodge to capture the Fiji island sea breeze and views to the famous blue waters of Nalova Bay. Perfect for travelers on a budget offering eight single beds which feature divider walls for extra privacy.  The bathroom is conveniently located nearby. It is furnished in a fusion of contemporary style with Fijian design. The space delivers amazing tropical sunsets and ocean views.  Ceiling fans and fully screened louvered windows also allow for the beautiful sea breeze.
Maximum Occupancy: 8 Adults

Beachfront Studio:
Perfect for singles, couples or groups of families, there are four Beachfront Studio Rooms which can combine into two interconnecting rooms with an interconnecting door. On the absolute beachfront, just steps to a powdery white sand beach. One Studio Room has a King size bed only and the other Studio Room has a Queen size bed and a single bed and can sleep up to five people when you book two interconnecting studios. The studios are furnished in a fusion of contemporary style with Fijian design, including an outdoor deck and a hammock enveloped by lush, landscaped gardens. The deck delivers amazing tropical sunsets and ocean views.  Ceiling fans and fully screened louvered windows also allow for the beautiful sea breeze.

Ocean View Bure:
This bure sits behind the beachfront bures – if your preference is to be a little back from the water and more secluded in the gardens this your bure. Perfect for couples offering a 32 sqm freestanding, air-conditioned bure. Furnished in a fusion of contemporary style with Fijian design, including an outdoor tropical shower under the stars and surrounded by lush, landscaped gardens.  The hammock and private deck are surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants and yet you still have the ocean views. Ceiling fans and the fully screened louvered windows also allow for the beautiful sea breeze.

Beachfront Bure:
This bure is literally steps from the water – you can hear the waves at night! Perfect for couples offering a 32 sqm freestanding, air-conditioned bure. Furnished in a fusion of contemporary style with Fijian design, including an outdoor tropical shower under the stars. The hammock or private deck deliver amazing tropical sunsets. You have dedicated sun loungers for sunbaking or star gazing in the evening, listen to the waves at your doorstep and watch the shooting stars and the Milky Way!

Deluxe Beachfront Villa:
The Deluxe Beachfront Villa is 60 sqm, the largest accommodation option perfect for that special getaway or honeymoon in Fiji. With a private terrace that includes two deck chairs and and a super comfy hanging egg chair you’ll never want to leave.  Just a few steps from a powdery white sand beach, the Deluxe Beachfront Villa is situated at the very edge of the Lodge grounds. This Villa offers a king bedroom, generous lounge area, a spacious outdoor bathroom with double vanities, two dedicated hammocks on the beachfront and two dedicated loungers. To keep you cool on those balmy Fiji evenings, you have a choice of air conditioning, ceiling fans or floor to ceiling fully screened timber louvered windows to allow for cross-ventilation and sea breeze.

Getting to and from Oarsman's Bay Lodge
We are happy to organise any of the following:
Transfer from Nadi International Airport to Port Denarau Marina or Vuda Point Marina by coach or private vehicle to connect to your boat transfer.

Scheduled High-Speed Catamaran Ferry:
The transit is on the “Yasawa Flyer”, a modern, air-conditioned high-speed catamaran ferry with a café on board which operates a daily schedule between Port Denarau and Oarsman's Bay Lodge. South Seas Cruise’s high-speed catamaran will transport you to Oarsman's Bay Lodge in 4.5 hours. The Yasawa Flyer departs Port Denarau (25 minutes from Nadi Airport) at 8.45am daily. Oarsman’s Bay Lodge is the last stop arriving at 1pm. Enjoy air-conditioned spaces, the licensed bar and viewing decks as you journey across the clear lagoons of Fiji’s most beautiful islands. Upgrade to the Captain’s lounge, with air conditioning, snacks, beer, wine and soft drinks. Courtesy coach transfers from/to Nadi International Airport or selected hotels and resorts in Nadi, Wailoaloa and Denarau regions are available.

Helicopter:
Helicopter transfer can be arranged to and from Nadi International Airport as well as to/from other selected resorts. A private helicopter charter will transport you from Nadi Airport to Oarsman's Bay Lodge in just 30 minutes. Your pilot will meet you at the helipad, just a short walk from the arrivals lounge at Nadi Airport.  From there, you’ll enjoy a spectacular scenic flight to Oarsman's Bay Lodge over coral reefs and volcanic ranges.

Kids’ Policy
Oarsman's Bay Lodge is an adults-only resort.  Only guests aged 18 years and over are accepted at Oarsman's Bay Lodge.

Check-in/Check Out
The hotel will make every effort to have your rooms available at your time of check-in but advise that standard check-in and check-out times are fairly strictly adhered to.
