OUR Thoughts on Motu Beachfront Art Villas, Titikaveka Beach, Rarotonga.
Motu Beachfront Art Villas has, In our opinion, just about everything right for a totally relaxing, hassle free, recharge-the-personal-battery type of holiday and that goes for honeymoons anniversaries and celebrating personal special occasions too.
Motu Beachfront Art Villas is an adults-only resort where the minimum age for guests to be accepted is 18 years. Eight villas are set up to accommodate a maximum of 2 guests while the two Ariki - Premium Beachfront Villas can accommodate a maximum 3 guests.
A minimum stay policy of 3 consecutive nights applies.
The location sets the scene. Titikaveka Beach is on the quiet southern side of Rarotonga. The beach really is beautiful – the sand is powder-white and the lagoon really does have the clearest water you could wish for. The tropical fish in the lagoon can be seen just metres off shore and you don’t have to be in a kayak to see them, just wade in up to your knees – you will often see fish while you’re standing on the beach! From Titikaveka Beach you can see both the sunrise and the sunsets.
Then there’s Motu Beachfront Art Villas itself. It’s an intimate little resort property with only 10 villas. They self-rate their property at 4 Star minimum, but we think that rating is designed so that guest expectations are surpassed, and you can’t really fault them for that can you? The island of Rarotonga is a size that makes it unnecessary for every little resort to have all the services on site that you may need for a great holiday (such as an in-house restaurant) as every facility and service on the island is so handy. What you do need though is professional, friendly and caring staff who are always available to organise any facilities or services you may want, and Motu Beachfront Art Villas has splendid staff with great local knowledge and expertise. Would you like a massage? No problem to organise. Like a special chef-cooked meal in your own villa? No problem. Would you like recommendations/bookings for restaurants? No problem, day trip to Aitutaki, Fishing or dive trip etc – easy! Would you like to attend the best Island Night on Rarotonga? Happy to oblige. It goes without saying that rental cars, scooters or bicycles can be effortlessly organised and the use of e-bikes is included in the nightly tariff.
On-site Motu Beachfront Art Villas provides a lovely fresh-water swimming pool, hammocks and sun-loungers, kayaks and snorkelling gear and there is always that great beach and lagoon right there out front. Motu is also a whellchair accessible resort offering smooth and easy access for wheelchair uses to each of the Beachfront Villas and across the entire resort. Guests who use wheelchairs can enjoy step-free access from the carpark to the villas, pool area, beach and open air guest lounge. There is a bar which is self-service, honesty based pool bar. Accessible during and after-hours. Only for in-house guests.
Another welcome service is the arrival starter pack including breakafst supplies, some snacks such as cheese, crackers, wine & beers provided to each arriving guest and the personal orientation session provided by the manager when you arrive is a great way to start off your holiday.
There are 3 restaurants within easy walking/cycling distance, a village convenience store right across the road and a Rarotonga-style supermarket a short drive away. The circle-island buses stop right outside.

Your Accommodation Options
There is a semi-circular drive in from the road. The swimming pool backs on to the Reception area and as you face over the pool from Reception, the 4 villas on the beach frontage are the Manutai - Beachfront Villas. Separated from the Beachfront Villas by a pathway and lawn, there is one Ariki - Premium Beachfront Villa on either side of the Manutai - Beachfront Villas. The 4 Onu - Lagoon View Villas, which are closer to Reception, have a filtered lagoon view over the lawns.

Onu - Lagoon View Villas:
Nestled between the palm trees and hibiscus flowers, the Onu Lagoon View Villas offer privacy and seclusion within footsteps of the white sand beach. With views encompassing the tropical gardens and the ocean, the Onu (turtle) Villas are the perfect option for those wanting a quiet retreat.Newly modernised with designer furnishings, and elevated with art and fabrics from across the Pacific, the Onu Villas offer spacious accommodation including a living area, self-catering kitchenette, spacious bathroom, and a shaded balcony for absorbing the views.
Features a separate bedroom and separate living area. 1 bathroom.
Maximum occupancy: 2 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding is accommodated.
Manutai - Beachfront Villas:
Perched on the foot of the lagoon, guests can unwind while taking in the white sand beach and peaceful waters that stretch out in front of them. The Manutai (sea bird) Villas invite relaxation within steps of the ocean.
Separate air-conditioned bedroom. The lounge/dining area has lounge furniture and a dining seating for 3. Separate bedroom and separate living area. 1 bathroom.

Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding is accommodated.
Ariki - Premium Beachfront Villas:
Premium Beachfront Villas are quite different. 60m2 in area with a different layout to the other villa types. The kitchen, lounge and dining area feels more separated and extensive lagoon views are gained from both the air-conditioned bedroom and the lounge area.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 Super King Bed
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be placed in the lounge area
Getting to and from Motu Beachfront Art Villas Rarotonga
We will include either seat-in-coach or private car arrival/departure transfers between Rarotonga International Airport and the resort in package arrangements as required/agreed.
We consider a rental car or scooter hire to be a worthwhile enhancement to a stay at Motu and we will happily organise this service for you. Of course, you can have a very enjoyable stay without a vehicle by using the circle island buses which pass in both directions every hour during the day and into the evening dining hours, but if you are attracted to an adults-only resort of the standard of Motu Beachfront Art Villas you may well be inclined to self-cater for breakfast and perhaps lunch, but enjoy the freedom a car gives you to enjoy the many and varied restaurants Rarotonga has to offer for dinners.
Kids Policy
This is an adults-only resort and restricted to guests aged 18 years and over.
Check-in/Check Out
Standard check-in and check-out times are:
Check-In Time: 2:00pm
Check-Out Time: 10:00am
Early Arriving Flights
The Resort recommends that all guests arriving prior to 6:00am should book and pay for their room from the night before to guarantee access to their room at the time they arrive. Not doing this could result in a wait of around 12 hours to gain entry to your accommodation. Post-registered nights also to be considered for late or very early departures on the 11pm or 1am flights.
