Our Resort Report
OUR Thoughts on Palm Grove, Vaima, Rarotonga.
Palm Grove is constantly upgrading and enhancing its accommodation, facilities and services and is now a very solid mid-range full-service resort with a restaurant open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes a popular Sunday BBQ. On Friday Night Palm Grove provdes a Happy Hour for guests which includes free drinks, snacks and live music.  Complimentary activities include use of snorkelling gear, kayaks, beach towels and beach chairs, use of a guest BBQ and a popular Sunday Church Shuttle.

The location is stunning.  Palm Grove is located half way around the island from the main town, Avarua, and about 15 minutes from the airport, but remember, the whole island is only 32 kms (22 miles) right around. The original units were built across the road from a perfect beach on a quiet stretch of the circle island road on the secluded south side of the island. Later on, more units and a 3 bedroom Villa were added over the road right on the beachfront - only steps off the white-sand beach.  The circle island road is still there but it is not busy out here and doesn’t detract at all from guests’ enjoyment of this beaut little village-style resort.

Guests are personally met at the airport by a Palm Grove staff member irrespective of flight arrival time and transferred to the property.  Continental buffet breakfast is included in the tariff – cooked breakfast is available at a small surcharge.  There is a local supermarket barely five minutes walk away and the circle island bus to Avarua stops regularly right at the resort.

Honeymoon Bonus
Palm Grove provides a chilled bottle of sparkling wine on arrival to all honeymoon couples staying at least 3 nights.

The 22 stand-alone units which are all air-conditioned and have full kitchens, provide a wide variety of accommodation types and outlooks. 
Garden Location
The Garden Studios are clustered around the swimming pool and are handy to the restaurant.  The Two Bedroom Bungalow is located next to the Garden Studios and close to the pool. Off to one side, but also handily placed you find the 4 One- Bedroom Superior bungalows; the centrally located Three Bedroom Bungalow completes the picture on the land or "garden” side of the property.
Beachfront
Straight across the road and virtually right on the beach frontage, there are 8 Beachfront Studios and the 3 Bedroom Beach Villa which is located on the western side of the Beachfront Studios.

 Garden Studios:
Garden Studio Patios face inward towards the swimming pool and the wide lawn.  Rooms have tiled floors, light painted walls, kitchens, vaulted ceilings and newly thatched roofs.
Minimum Stay Policy: 3 nights
Kids aged under 6 years stay free
Maximum occupancy: 3 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be added, there is also space for a cot.

 One Bedroom Superior:
Located in the garden area.  Each has a separate bedroom and lounge/kitchen area.  A private patio faces north and away from the lagoon providing beautiful sunny views towards Rarotonga’s spectacularly lush interior mountains. Tiled floors and white painted walls complete the picture. 
Minimum Stay Policy: 3 nights
Kids aged under 6 years stay free
Maximum occupancy: 3 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be added and there is space for a cot.

 The Two Bedroom Garden Bungalow:
Garden location handy to the restaurant.  The Two Bedroom Bungalow has two separate bedrooms plus a full-size kitchen and a dining/lounge area, one bathroom with separate toilet, tiled floors, light painted walls and two private patios. 
Minimum Stay Policy: 5 nights
Kids aged under 6 years stay free
Maximum occupancy: 5 Guests
Existing Bedding: A King Bed in each bedroom, each of which may be split into 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Rollaway Bed can be added, there is also space for a cot

 The Three Bedroom Garden Bungalow:
Handy to the restaurant and pool in the garden area.  There are three bedrooms plus a full-size kitchen and a dining/lounge area, one bathroom, separate toilet, tiled floors, light painted walls and two private patios.
Minimum Stay Policy: 5 nights
Kids aged under 6 years stay free
Maximum occupancy: 6 Guests
Existing Bedding: A King Bed in each bedroom, each of which may be split into 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: Space for a cot.

 Beachfront Studios:
Completely refurbishment in 2014 and still looking in great shape. Beachfront Studios are located right above the beach and guests enjoy unfiltered views of the beach, lagoon and ocean from both inside the room as well as from the extensive decking.  These rooms have wooden floors and are decorated in a more Polynesian-style “woody” theme on their walls and their beautiful cathedral ceilings.  There is an open-plan kitchen.  The modern bathroom has a shower, toilet and vanity in the one room.
Minimum Stay Policy: 3 nights
Kids aged under 6 years are not accommodated in Beachfront Studios
Maximum occupancy: 2 Guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed or 2 Single Beds
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.

 The Three Bedroom Beach Villa:
Absolute beachfront and located beside the Beachfront Studios. This beautiful Villa offers two bedrooms (one bathroom) on the ground floor and one spacious bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom on the first floor. This Villa has tiled floors, contemporary light-painted walls and a big outdoor deck with private BBQ.  The spacious kitchen is on the ground floor where the living area extends right down one side of the Villa and is divided into dining, lounge and TV areas.
Minimum Stay Policy: 5 nights
Kids aged under 6 years: Yes and stay free
Maximum occupancy: 8 Guests
Existing Bedding: A King Bed in each bedroom, each of which may be split into 2 Single Beds

Palm Grove’s standard check-in and check-out times are:
Check In Time: 2:00pm
Check Out Time: 10:00am
Guaranteed early check-in between 6:00am and 2:00pm is charged at 50% of the nightly rate of the accommodation type occupied.
Guaranteed late Check-out between 10:00am and 6:00pm is charged at 50% of the nightly rate of the accommodation type occupied.
Any check-in prior to 6:00am and/or late check-out after 6:00pm is charged at the full nightly rate.
