OUR Thoughts on Moana Sands Beachfront Villas & Apartments, Vaimaanga, Rarotonga.
As you arrive under the huge sheltered porch in front of Moana Sands Beachfront Villas, you can only be immediately impressed by the superb, absolute beach-front location. The building looks great from the road, but wait until you get into your room and check out how close your accommodation is to the beach and the lagoon!  The six air-conditioned Beachfront Villas are in one big building which straddles the width of the section so that all Villas provide front-on views of the beach and lagoon. More recently, 2 Beachside Apartments and 2 ground floor Beachfront Studio Apartments have been added in an adjacent building which is side-on to the beach although the Studio Apartments on the front of this building are on the beach frontage. The Studio Apartments provide a slightly cheaper option.  

All guests receive a complimentary continental breakfast starter pack which is handy for your first breakfast.  The local super-store right across the road will be one of your first stops outside the property to stock up on fruit, groceries and supplies for future breakfasts and self-catered lunches and dinners. The Taikura Shops are adjacent to The Villas’ reception and these include a café, arts and crafts store and Health & Beauty Clinic.

Villas and Apartments are serviced daily except for Sundays and Public Holidays. Charged wifi is available in all villas and apartments and all accommodation units have an iPod docking station. There is a 8 metre by 3.5 metres saltwater swimming pool operational at Moana Sands Beachfront Villas.  The pool is available for use by guests of all Moana Sands properties in Rarotonga.

“A welcome addition to Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel are six new 2 bedroom villas, 2 new Beachside Apartments and 2 new Beachside Studio Apartments in 2 storey buildings nestled on the white sandy beach in the village of Vaimaanga; just 4 kms or 5 minutes drive from The Hotel.

Of the 6 villas, 3 are on the ground floor and 3 on the upper level.  Each villa has 2 bedrooms with King size bed which can be split into 2 singles.  The bedrooms each have their own ensuite bathroom with a shower only. Each villa is ABSOLUTE beachfront with air-conditioning, has a spacious modern kitchen and living area complete with fridge/freezer, microwave, stovetop, flat screen TV with DVD player, Sky TV and an iPod docking system.

The open-plan living area opens out into a lovely beachfront patio or balcony where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views out over the lagoon.

The rooms are tastefully decorated with Polynesian furnishings and modern amenities.  Moana Sands Beachfront Villas are conveniently located right across the road from a mini supermarket open daily and 2 popular local restaurants are within 3/4 minutes walking distance.

Your Accommodation Options
(In ascending order of tariff
 Beachfront Studio Apartments:
Located on the ground floor of the building adjacent to the villas, the approximately 55m² air-conditioned Studio Apartments are modern and bright.  Both feature an undercover furnished veranda from which you step on to the sand.  Studio Apartments have a kitchenette which provides guests with a full-size fridge/freezer, a microwave oven and a twin-element glass cooktop as well as a kitchen sink. The room is open-plan.  The modern bathroom has a shower.
Maximum Occupancy: 2 guests, either 2 Adults or 1 Adult and 1 Child.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed which may be split into 2 Single Beds.   
Additional Bedding: Neither additional bedding nor a baby cot may be added to these rooms.

 Two Bedroom Beachside Apartments:
Located on the first floor (above the Studio Apartments) with side-on sea views from each long balcony. Air-conditioned, Two Bedroom Beachfront Apartments are approximately 95m² with 2 separate bedrooms and one large bathroom, (there is a second separate toilet). These apartments offer a spacious open-plan living room with a lounge/dining area and a full kitchen equipped with a full oven and cook-top, a full-size fridge/freezer and a microwave oven.
Maximum Occupancy: 4 Adults or 2 Adults and 2 Children or 1 Adult and 3 Children,
plus 1 Infant in a cot.
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in each bedroom, either or both of which may be unzipped to provide up to 4 Single beds.  
Additional Bedding: A Cot (complimentary and subject to availability) for an infant aged up to 11 months may be added.

 Two Bedroom/2 Bathroom Beachfront Villas:
Each Beachfront Villa runs the whole depth of the building from the arrival area right through to the beach. Staying in one of the 3 ground-floor villas, you step straight out onto the sand from your private patio. Immediately above, the 3 first-floor villas have private balconies, each one fronting the beach and the lagoon. As well as kitchens, you’ll be pleased to find other apartment-like facilities such as hairdryers and an iron and ironing board. Both bedrooms, (each with an ensuite bathroom), are located towards the back of each villa and the open-plan living area is at the front opening out to the patio or balcony and that great view.  Furnishings are tropical/modern. Beachfront Villas are approximately 98m²in size.
All six villas are configured the same.  
Maximum Occupancy: 4 people (4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children).
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in each bedroom, either or both of which can be unzipped to provide up to 4 Single beds.  
Additional Bedding: A Cot for an infant may be added outside the maximum occupancy policy.  Cots are provided on a complimentary basis subject to availability.  

Getting to and from Moana Sands Beachfront Villas
Moana Sands Villas, in conjunction with Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel and Moana Sands Lagoon Resort operates an independent Airport Transfer services for all International and Domestic airline services.  The vehicle is air-conditioned and arriving guests receive a chilled bottle of water to help them on their way. The cost of these transfers will be included in package arrangements made by us.

The Circle-Island buses operate hourly in each direction during the day, to and from Avarua Town and stop on-demand at Moana Sands Beachside Villas & Apartments.

Kids Policy
Moana Sands Beachfront Villas and Apartments are family-friendly accommodation and children of all ages are welcome year-round.  
A maximum of 3 children may be accommodated in any 2 bedroom apartment or villa providing the fourth occupant is an adult.

Standard check-in and check-out times:

Early Check-in and Late Check-Out
(Charged at a special rate)
Early check-in may be arranged for flights arriving 8:00am onwards. 
Late check-out may be arranged up to 6:00pm.
Conditions:
 - This service is not available for stays 01 April to 31 October
 - Early check-in and late check-out services are offered on
   a “Run-of-House” basis and guests may not be allocated
   the same room or room category as the
   accommodation booked during the guests’ stay.
 - To guarantee same room access guests are recommended
   to pre-book the night before arrival.

Early Arriving Flights
Several flights each week from Auckland arrive at Rarotonga between midnight and 2:00am. We recommend that all guests arriving prior to 6:00am should book and pay for their room from the night before to guarantee access to their room at the time they arrive. Not doing this could result in a wait of around 12 hours to gain entry to your accommodation.
