OUR Thoughts on Sea Change Villas, Titikaveka Lagoon, Rarotonga
An excellent boutique resort in a very special location. The villas are huge, modern and superbly maintained. The gardens are always a picture and the beach is naturally beautiful. The resort sits on one of a very few natural inlets in the coastline of Rarotonga and this unique feature and the way the resort has been built in sympathy with the inlet, gives ready beach access from all villas, even those which are not actually located right on the beach frontage.
The quiet south coast of Rarotonga is an excellent location choice for those people seeking an intimate boutique resort. Facing south means the south-easterly sea breezes provide natural cooling, and although the villas are all air-conditioned, the breeze usually provides enough natural cooling. You will spend a great deal of time out on your decks and patio as well as around and in the individual swimming pool provided with every villa. The pools are not heated but they have a cunning design incorporating a shallow ledge down one end which facilitates the sun heating the water above it naturally and this shallow end of the pool is our favourite place to lie and take in the sun and the water – it’s just so relaxing!
The top-notch facilities are matched by the friendly, unobtrusive service by the management and staff. The personal orientation discussion provided for each new guest is a prime example of this service. Every villa is stocked with a complimentary self-starter breakfast pack on arrival which includes eggs, milk, juice, cereals, bread, butter and condiments. For guests requiring breakfast each day, a (charged) tropical breakfast may be organised to be delivered to your villa.
There are plenty of activities available on-site at Sea Change Villas; bicycles, kayaks, non-motorised watersports, snorkelling equipment, stand-up paddle boards to name a few. They have an extensive DVD and CD library which is offered to guests on a complimentary basis and a BBQ area for guests to enjoy. Villas are serviced daily except Sunday.
This really is an exceptional property. For those seeking a high-quality resort as a base to enjoy the remarkable island of Rarotonga, Sea Change Villas is a very good option.

Weddings
Sea Change Villas cater to small weddings of no more than 25 guests. Weddings are contracted to an independent professional wedding organiser and although Sea Change do not host wedding receptions on the property, between their professional wedding coordinator and our Island Weddings Specialist, a perfect spot for a wedding reception can always be found at off-site venues around the island.
Your Accommodation Options
All 15 villas at Sea Change Rarotonga are a delight to occupy. Every villa is exceptionally spacious inside and out and every single one has a private walled patio deck which contains an individual swimming pool. The pools are approximately 3.5 metres x 5 metres and are approximately 1.2 metres deep in the deepest part. The Lagoon View Executive Villas have pools which are a little bigger at 4 x 6 metres and the same depth as the other pools. Pools are set in extensive timber decks which come complete with quality lounging furniture, swing chair etc.
The villa categories differ mainly in their location on the resort property. While each has its individual features, the standards, layout and facilities are universally high over all categories.
The 9 Beachfront Villas, as their name suggests, are right on the beach frontage on a small promontory beside a lovely sandy inlet which marks the western end of Titikaveka Beach and the Marine Reserve. The Lagoon View Villas are over the road from the Beachfront Villas and the Lagoon View Executive Villas are on a gentle rise behind the Lagoon View Villas.
One of the many delights of Rarotonga is the fact that the road which runs right around the island hugs the coastline on the south coast and this gives travellers constant access to views of the coast, the lagoon and the reef. Sea Change Villas is located on Rarotonga’s south coast, almost as far away from the main population centre and capital Avarua (including the airport and the port) as you can be - but that’s only 15-16 kilometres away. The Beachfront Villas are on the beach side of the road and the Lagoon View Villas on the land-side of the road. The road is not busy on the south coast and traffic fades away to a trickle in the late afternoons. Frankly, the road is not an issue for guests of Sea Change Villas, but it exists, so we figure we should mention it.
All villas have air-conditioned bedroom areas; there are ceiling fans throughout and plenty of flow-through ventilation for those preferring to enjoy the sounds of the waves on the reef and the beach through the open windows while they relax indoors. Every bedroom has a corresponding bathroom equipped with rain shower. All villas have a kitchen including a combo fridge/freezer, convection oven microwave, a 2-hob cook top (at least) and a dishwasher. There is also a dining table setting. The range of facilities is huge – please refer to the Facilities Guide on the right-hand panel of this page.

Sea Change Villas - Rarotonga accepts bookings for stays of 3 nights or longer.

70 walking paces from the beach. The main bedroom is incorporated in the total living space, although in a separate area and there is heavy curtaining to close the bed area off from the living space at night if required.
Only guests aged 16 years and over are accommodated in Lagoon View Villas.

The second bedroom is a totally separate room with its own ensuite bathroom, TV/DVD player and bi-fold doors on to the deck.

LAGOON VIEW EXECUTIVE VILLAS:
On a gentle rise only 100 metres from beach. Lagoon View Executive Villas have an additional games room downstairs which includes a table tennis table, darts board, table soccer and weight station. This is also where the bed for the 5th person is placed when required. In the main villa area both bedrooms are separate from the living area. The kitchen has a full oven and a 4 hob cook top. The extensive exterior decking holds not only the slightly bigger swimming pool but has a covered section which shades a full-sized outdoor dining setting with a table and 6 chairs. Lagoon View Executive Villas have a laundry in every villa.
Children aged 12 years and over are accepted as guests in Lagoon View Executive Villas.
2 Bedroom Lagoon View Executive Villas
with Private Pool:
A 2 Bedroom Lagoon View Executive Villa is a 3 Bedroom Villa with the third bedrooms locked off.

3 Bedroom Lagoon View Executive Villas
with Private Pool:
3 bedroom/2 bathroom Lagoon View Executive Villas are very spacious at just under 200m2 (including decks) and ideal for a bigger family with older children or a group of friends. The 3rd bedroom is located on the ground floor next to the games room.
Maximum Occupancy: 6 guests
Existing Bedding: Upstairs - 1 King Bed in main bedroom, 2 Single Beds in second bedroom can be zipped together to make a King Bed. Ground Floor: 2 Single Beds which can be zipped together to make a comfortable King Bed.

BEACHFRONT VILLAS:
Step down off your deck right on to the sandy inlet.
1 Bedroom Beachfront Villas with Private Pool:
Features are high raked timber ceilings; bi-fold doors open the room right up to the deck and the lagoon. The main bedroom is incorporated in the total living space and there is heavy curtaining to close the bed area off from the living space at night if required. Villas are exceptionally spacious at 72m2 with a 100m2 deck
Only guests aged 16 years and over are accommodated in Beachfront Villas.

Getting To and From Sea Change Villas - Rarotonga
Sea Change Villas provide all guests arriving off international flights with a VIP greeting and private car transfer direct to the resort. The VIP service includes flower eis (garlands), bottled water, a glass of bubbles and a cool towelette on arrival. We wil include the cost of either a seat-in-coach or private car transfers in package arrangements as required/agreed.

● Transfers to and from domestic flights is provided on a seat-in-coach basis.
Getting Around
● Sea Change Villas guests have the complimentary use of the resort’s bicycles at all times.
● Rental cars and scooters are easily arranged.
● The Round Island Bus anti-clockwise schedule departs Sea Change Villas approximately on the hour and takes 20 minutes to reach Cooks Corner in Avarua Town. On the return journey, the clockwise service departs Avarua Town on the hour and also takes 20 minutes to reach Sea Change Villas. It takes 35 minutes on the bus if you take the long-way around.

The acceptance of guests at Sea Change Villas is age-specific to each villa type.
Lagoon View Executive Villas:
Guests aged 12 years and over are accepted.

Check-in/Check-out
Standard check-in and check-out times:
Check in time is 2:00pm
Check out time is 11:00am
Early Check-in and Late Check-out
Early check-in between 6:00am and 2:00pm may be arranged on a “Run-of-House” basis for a flat fee.
“Run-of-House” means guests may be placed in any available room category including Day Rooms until their allocated villa is ready for occupation.
To remove the possibility of having to change rooms on arrival day due to an early arrival, guests should book and prepay their accommodation from the night before arrival date.
Late check-out between 11:00am and 6:00pm may be arranged on a “Run-of-House” basis for a flat fee.
“Run-of-House” means guests may be placed in any available room category including Day Rooms if the villa they have occupied is required for incoming guests.
Guests staying in 2 and 3 Bedroom accommodation categories need to pre-book and pay for accommodation for the nights pre and post their stay to guarantee early and late occupation of their villa. Day Rooms are not suitable for more than 2 guests.
Tiare Day Rooms at Sea Change Villas
Sea Change Villas has 2 ‘Tiare day-rooms’ (charged) to help soften the blow of guests arriving/departing on those international flights to the Cook Islands which arrive or depart at anti-social hours and which don’t always coincide with normal check-in and check-out times. The day-rooms provide arriving or departing guests a place to rest while waiting for their rooms to become available on arrival, or for their flights to depart. The day rooms are like hotel rooms with a TV, bed, kitchenette and ensuite and cater for a maximum 2 guests, making them suitable for early arriving and late departing guests staying in 1 Bedroom accommodation categories only.
Note: Day Rooms are not equipped with a private pool.
