HOLIDAY HOME
NATURA LAGOON BUNGALOW
Our Resort Report
OUR Thoughts on Natura Lagoon Bungalow
This is an excellent location and a great choice for a tropical beach batch holiday on Rarotonga. If you read through our descriptions of all the holiday homes we recommend on Rarotonga, you will find quite a cluster of them around the Titikaveka/Vaimaanga area on Rarotonga’s south coast. Natura Lagoon Bungalow is a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house located on the beach sand at Titikaveka in a lovely quiet location.
The location could hardly be better – walk along the beach (or the road) to the west and in 150 metres you come to Little Polynesian Resort and another 150 metres on you find Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel. Both these resorts have very pleasant restaurants. Right across the road you will find the Marie Nui Botanic Gardens and Café. Wigmore’s Supermarket is only 1.3kms away. If you walk east from Natura Lagoon Bungalow, within 200 metres you will come across Charlie’s Café and Beach Bar, a terrific little rustic beachfront café and bar with a deck overlooking the beach. Carlie’s serves huge fish meals and great hamburgers and is also renowned for its “friendly” bar and cocktail prices – especially during Happy Hour! Walk another 300 metres to the east and you will find one of Rarotonga’s many roadside convenience stores.
While not being air-conditioned, you will find the lagoon breezes and the flow-through ventilation are sufficient to keep the house cool. There is a well-equipped kitchen, laundry and a pleasant living area, but the feature of the house is the wide covered deck out front which flows seamlessly from the lounge. The deck includes outdoor furniture and a guest BBQ and has roll-down plastic sheeting blinds for use when the weather conditions require a little shelter. Step down 2 steps from the deck and your feet are on the beach sand under the coconut palms. The lagoon is only a few paces away.
The tariff includes a service with linen change and gardening every 3 days, free local telephone calls and the use of snorkelling equipment.
Natura Lagoon Bungalow has a minimum 3 night stay policy.

General note re a holiday home stay on Rarotonga.
Individual holiday homes offer widely differing standards and specifications as to what is included and the services which are available to guests taking this accommodation option. As a general rule, a holiday home is a private citizen’s private residence or holiday place, and, unlike a stay at a resort, a manager or owner may not be available on-site. However, the owner (or an agent of the owner) may be available to sort out any problems or maintenance issues encountered (and visits by neighbours’ dogs and chickens!!) In the case of this property, the owner has placed it under the management of the Natura Holiday Home Management Group. The benefit to you of this arrangement is that not only do home cleaning and linen changes happen regularly every 3 days, but round-the-clock maintenance support is on hand in case of malfunctions.
As is the case throughout the Pacific Islands, it is sensible to maintain a reasonable level of security and to keep up a personal insect repellent program irrespective of where you are staying.
Getting to and from Natura Lagoon Bungalow
The Natura people have a very good system for arriving and departing guests. Their contracted driver will be at the airport to meet arriving guests. The driver will have access to the keys to the property and after providing the transfer to the property, will open up and give a short orientation of the bungalow, its features and facilities. The driver will call again at the completion of your stay and transfer you back to the airport on departure.
The circle island buses stop on demand.
Night Restaurant Bus:
Every day except Sunday and Public Holidays, a bus operates clockwise every hour between 6:00pm and 11:00pm. This is a perfect way for guests at Natura Lagoon Bungalow to get to any restaurant on the island. The bus stops at Natura Lagoon Bungalow on demand at approximately 25 minutes past the hour.
