OUR Thoughts on Muri Beachcomber, Muri Lagoon, Rarotonga
A long-time favourite, being one of the original places for visitors to stay on the Muri Lagoon. With very comfortable amenities and great services from genuinely friendly managers and staff. Long before there was any sort of major resort at Muri, (let alone the now-famous Night Market, dining and food outlets, lagoon-based activities, etc), Muri Beachcomber offered comfortable units with a kitchen and separate living room, wonderful tropical gardens and sweeping lawns as well as direct access to Muri Beach in what was in those days, pretty much a “country Rarotonga” setting. Over the years, more units have been added to Muri Beachcomber and original units constantly upgraded, and now, of course, it’s surrounded by all the features of the wonderful Muri Lagoon tourist area. However, the friendly, comfortable essence of the place has never changed and today’s guests not only appreciate the original open beach front location but all the amenities and services on offer at and all around the property.
One of the many features that set Muri Beachcomber apart is the balance they achieve between the number of guests catered for and the facilities and equipment provided. Staying here, it is almost unheard of not to be able to find a vacant sun-lounger, stand-up-paddleboard, kayak, snorkelling gear, reef shoes or a complimentary-use bicycle. All the resort gear is kept in great shape and regularly cleaned and serviced. The units are meticulously clean and serviced every day (except Sunday) and towels and beach towels changed daily. A light breakfast pack is delivered to each unit every day and complimentary (seasonal) fruit is often available at Reception.
Having the Night Market (normally opens four evenings a week) is a welcome additional feature for guests. Wander over next door on the market nights and enjoy a wide choice of evening meal options and either eat at the market or bring dinner back to your individual veranda (or down to one of the beach front decks) to enjoy as the sun goes down behind the inland mountains.
Catering for singles, couples, honeymooners and families. Families are happy in Garden Units and Family Garden Units, while the Seaview Units and Watergarden Villas are designated for adults-only (minimum age 13 years).
This is a place to stay for a week, or two (or three or more). A stay of more than just 3 or 4 nights will soon have you in total relaxation mode and will quickly rekindle childhood memories of long, lazy summer days at the beach.

Minimum Stay Policy
The resort has a minimum 3 nights stay policy although stays of 1 or 2 nights will be accepted should a gap between other bookings occur. We are happy to make an application for shorter stay periods.
Your Accommodation Options
Well established on a gorgeous site, Muri Beachcomber presents in 3 sections. Firstly, the “Family” section around the Reception and pool and providing garden views. This section is handiest to the Night Market next door. Secondly, also with garden views, the newer and bigger Watergarden Villas with a lawn, garden and lily pond outlook and, thirdly, the Seaview Units which are clustered around two lovely lawns on the beach frontage of the property – all 16 Seaview units offer views of Muri Lagoon. All units have an air-conditioned bedroom separate from the lounge/dining/kitchen, a nice veranda and a bathroom with shower.
Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
Garden Units:
1-Bedroom Units with full kitchen. Garden Units are all ground floor units, and all are 38m2 in size.
These units are family-friendly and suitable for children of all ages.
Maximum Occupancy: 4/5 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in the bedroom and 2 Single beds in an alcove in the lounge.
Additional Bedding: A cot for an infant aged up to 2 years may be added.
Seaview Units:
1-Bedroom Units with full kitchen. Seaview Units are all ground floor units, and all are 31m2 in size.
These units are designated for adults only (minimum age for children is 13 years). Seaview Units are found in duplex buildings (2 units to a building)
Maximum Occupancy: 3/4 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Split Bed in the bedroom and 1 Single bed in the lounge.
Additional Bedding: A Rollaway Bed may be added.
Watergarden Villas:
1-Bedroom stand-alone Villas with full kitchen and a wrap-around veranda on two sides. All 3 villas are a generous 43m2 in size.
These units are designated for adults only (minimum age for children is 13 years).
Maximum Occupancy: 3 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Split Bed in the bedroom and 1 Single bed in the lounge.
Additional Bedding: No additional bedding accommodated.
The Family Garden Unit:
A 62m2 Two-Bedroom Unit (1 bathroom, with separate toilet as well as a full kitchen) above the office. Family-friendly and suitable for children of all ages
Maximum Occupancy: 5/6 guests
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed in the main bedroom, 1 King Split in the second bedroom and 1 Single bed in the lounge.
Additional Bedding: A cot may be added.
Getting to and from Muri Beachcomber
A complimentary arrival and departure airport transfer is included in all stays at Muri Beachcomber.
Muri Beachcomber is located in the heart of Muri adjacent to the famous Muri Night Market, and all the features and services of Muri are virtually at your doorstep, within easy walking distance. The complimentary use of resort bicycles is included in the tariff for guests wishing to move a little further afield.
The Circle Island Buses stop at the roadside entrance to the property and the run into town (Avarua) takes just on 15 minutes on the direct route. The scenic route which takes guests clockwise around the island takes 35 minutes to town.
Kids Policy
Children aged under 13 years are accepted in Garden Units and the Family Garden Unit.
Infants aged up to 2 years of age stay free in these units. Cots and High Chairs are available for use free of charge.
Exclusively for Adults.
Seaview Units and Watergarden Villas are restricted to guests aged 13 years and over.
Check-in/Check Out
Official check-in and checkout times are:
Check-in: Noon
Check-out: 10:00am
Early Check-in and Late Check-out
To guarantee immediate access to rooms when arriving prior to noon, accommodation should be booked and paid for the night prior to arrival.
To guarantee a late check-out accommodation should be reserved for an additional night.
Early check-in and late check-out will be granted free of charge when available at the time of arrival and/or departure.
Courtesy Lounge
Muri Beachcomber operates a Courtesy Lounge (for up to 5 hours) for guests waiting to go to their rooms or waiting for airport pick-up. Kindly note that this is not alternative accommodation and is not available for early morning flights arriving/departing between 2:00am and 5:00am.
The lounge offers tea/coffee making facilities, an honesty bar and access to shower and toilet.
