OUR Thoughts on Crown Beach Resort & Spa, Arorangi, Rarotonga, Cook Islands
Crown Beach Resort & Spa has 36 Villas and Suites and is an adults-only Resort (they don’t accept accommodation bookings for under 16 year olds), and in a beautiful beachfront location.
The lagoon offers wonderful snorkelling and swimming, they have a restaurant (Oceans) which receives good reviews. The Oceans Restaurant at the centre of the resort is where the daily breakfasts included in the tariff are served and and the Sunday BBQ as well as regular specialty nights are hosted. The included breakfasts are impressive, comprising a cooked and tropical breakfast buffet.

Romantic Dinner on the Beach
A must-do at Crown Beach. A romantic dinner for 2 (or for up to 6 guests) can be arranged in one of the beachfront gazebos. As advised by Crown Beach Resort, the Romantic Dinner on the Beach package includes: “A heavenly setting in one of our two waterfront Gazebo's - complete with white linen, silverware, glassware, flowers & candles, flaming tiki torches, a gourmet 3-course dinner, bottle of sparkling wine, your own private waiter, a glorious sunset as your backdrop [weather permitting], twinkle lights and the sound of waves lapping on the beach.” Available daily at a cost of NZ$302 for 2.
New Exclusive Breakfast on the Beach for 2:
Enjoy a magical morning breakfast in a private beachfront gazebo withyour own personal waiter, special setup, meal choices from an exclusive menu, a bottle of sparkling wine and a stunning backdrop - a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or simply to begin your day in absolute bliss. Cost is NZ$150 for 2.
Both the Exclusive Breakfast and the Romantic Dinner on the Beach can be prearranged through OUR Specialists and included in your holiday package.
Being located on the western side of Rarotonga means glorious sunsets and whales passing just outside the reef in the whale migration season. The daily “Happy Hour” session from 4:00pm to 6:00pm each day provide ample opportunity for guests to enjoy Happy Hour-priced cocktails in a tropical beach location. For those guests seeking to pre-pay food and beverage charges, we can offer a range of options including Half Board (breakfast and dinner) and Full Board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) Meal Plans as well as an “All Inclusive Plan” which includes Full Board plus a Standard Alcoholic Beverages Package including wine, beer, mixed drinks and non-alcoholic drinks. Right beside the resort car park and tucked away from the villas, Crown Beach’s Functions Centre caters for conferences. For a resort with only 36 accommodation units this is an excellent additional facility which is especially useful for those guests needing to combine business with leisure.

Your Accommodation Options
As you enter Crown Beach from the main road you pass the Ariki Spa complex on your right - the Resort car park and Function Centre is on the left. You are surrounded by tropical gardens as you enter Reception and you see a tantalising glimpse the beach and the lagoon through the palms. Straight ahead you see the Swimming pool and Oceans Restaurant and the 1 and 2 Bedroom Garden Villas which are scattered around the pool and throughout the tropical garden. The Beachfront Villas are right at the front of the Resort. To your right are the beautifully secluded Courtyard Pool Suites. All accommodation is air-conditioned.
All accommodation types feature light cooking facilities (including a microwave oven, fridge, kettle, toaster and cutlery and crockery).
Minimum Stay Policy
Crown Beach Resort & Spa has a 3-night minimum-stay policy.
Room Categories (In ascending order of tariff)
One Bedroom Villas:
Located between the tropical gardens and the swimming pool. Hexagonal in shape, the separate bedroom and the bathroom are located in the rear half of the villa and this gives the front half over to the lounge and kitchenette which opens out on to a pleasant patio area. At 85m2 in area these villas are an exceptional size.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed which converts to 2 Single Beds if required..
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the living room for a 3rd Adult.
Courtyard Pool Suites:
Spacious and modern, the Courtyard Pool Suites are ideal for couples seeking privacy and seclusion as well as for 3 single adults travelling together. The Suite opens onto a private, high, stone-walled courtyard which contains a mini waterfall, personal pool and a dining gazebo complete with an outdoor dining table and chairs for room service dining. The bathroom is a special feature with double vanity, lovely big twin monsoon rain shower and their crowning glory - a claw-foot bathtub. The living/sleeping area is all one big space, but the size and design ensure there is ample lounge area. Courtyard Pool Suites include a microwave, kettle and coffee-making station, toaster and mini-fridge. 85m2

Two Bedroom Garden Villas:
120m2 in size and hexagonal in shape; there are 2 bedrooms which share 1 bathroom. Bedrooms are located in the rear half of the villa and the lounge/living with kitchenette is in the front opening on to a pleasant patio with views of the pool/garden.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 Adults
Existing Bedding: A King Bed in each bedroom either or both of which convert to 2 Single Beds if required..
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the living area.
One Bedroom Beachfront Villas:
These spacious (120m2) villas are almost on the beach while being set back just enough to ensure privacy from the beach. The views of the sunset from these Villas can only be described as “spectacular”. With a single separate bedroom and massive bathroom, the 1 Bedroom Beachfront Villas also have a spacious lounge/living with kitchenette and a dining table setting.
Maximum Occupancy: 3 Adults
Existing Bedding: 1 King Bed which converts to 2 Single Beds if required..
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the living room for a 3rd Adult.
Two Bedroom Pool Beachfront Villas:
Absolute beachfront and ideal for families with late-teen or adult children or a group of friends travelling together. All are extremely spacious (135m2) and are equipped with personal outdoor lounging furniture and a private pool on the lagoon-side balcony. There are 2 separate bedrooms which share 1 beautiful, big bathroom and a spacious lounge/living with kitchenette.
Maximum Occupancy: 5 Adults
Existing Bedding Configuration: 2 King Beds, either or both of which convert to 2 Single Beds if required..
Additional Bedding: 1 Single Bed can be added to the living room for a 5th Adult.
Getting to and from Crown Beach Resort & Spa
There are two transfer options for arriving guests; either sharing a coach with other arriving guests or enjoying VIP private car transfers. Both options include a personal Meet and Greet service with flower ei and bottled cold mineral water on arrival and a shell necklace on departure

The Circle Island Buses stop right outside Crown Beach and rental cars and scooters are easily
arranged. Parking is available at Crown Beach for rental vehicles.
Kids Policy
Children aged under 16 years are not accepted as guests at Crown Beach Resort & Spa. This policy applies to the accommodation and private areas of the Resort. Oceans Restaurant is open to the public on specialty nights and accompanied children are permitted in the restaurant. Children dining at Oceans Restaurant are not permitted to use any other resort facilities.
Check-in/Check Out
The hotel will make every effort to ensure your rooms are available at your time of check-in. The Hotel’s standard times and rates are:
Check-In Time: 2:00pm
Check-Out Time: 10:00am
Early Check in from 6:00am may be pre-arranged for a reasonable fee. The resort advises that “room categories are not guaranteed for an early check-in or a late check-out and are based on a run-of-house assignment (That is, guests may be required to move rooms on the day of arrival and/or departure). The resort will try its best to assign and check guests directly into their booked category but this is not guaranteed.”
Late Check Out, when available is charged a flat fee up to the 6:00pm check-out. Late check-out is on a request basis and you may either request the late check-out when making your initial booking or wait until to are staying at the resort adnd eal direct with the resort's reservations service. We can arrange a guaranteed late check-out at the cost of an extra night accommodation charge.
Early Arriving Flights
The Resort recommends that all guests arriving prior to 6:00am should book and pay for their room from the night before to guarantee access to their room at the time they arrive. Not doing this could result in a wait of around 12 hours to gain entry to your accommodation.
